To the left is the top of Hamburger Hill today. The photograph below was taken from the command chopper of Colonel Honeycutt after the battle. To the best of my ability the view from the helicopter is looking southeast while the photograph is looking northwest. I place myself taking the photograph at the left about where the trac is in the center of the photo near the two large trees. The trail leading down out of the top left of the photograph is the way we hiked up using the trail carved out by the tracs going up the hill after the battle. I'm indebted to Mel Cooper for the photograph which he received directly from Colonel Honeycutt. Read more about my hike to Hamburger Hills in the Diary.
